Fred Wood Began the practice of Law in 1982 after graduation from the University of Alabama School of Law. The University's Law School is consistently rated as one of the top Fifty Public Law Schools in the United States.

After two years in private solo practice, Fred joined veteran attorneys Nelson Vinson and Jerry F. Guyton to form the law firm of Vinson Guyton and  Wood. This successful run lasted until 1990 at which time Mr. Wood founded the plaintiffs litigation firm of Green Wood and Howell.During the period this firm was in business Fred had numerous settlements and verdicts in excess of One Million Dollars.This highly thought of firm closed in 1999 when Fred Wood returned to his first love, the solo practice of law. Since May of 1999, Fred has operated the office of Oliver Frederick Wood Attorney At Law. He is assisted by Mr. Jeremy Streetman, a graduate of the University of Louisana School and a lifelong resident of Hamilton as well as paralegal Cynthia Holland who has over twenty years experience in the field.

The firm is built around a core practice of plaintiffs litigation covering all types of injury and wrongdoing to consumers. Fred also has a substantial Bankruptcy and Bankruptcy litigation practice. In addition, serious divorce/child custody issues are handled by the firm.

Most of the firms research is done in-house with subscriptions to both WESTLAW and LOISLAW, two of the leading legal research companies.

The office uses the latest technology in all areas to provide clients with timely and cost effective service. In an effort to keep client costs down and the level of service up, the firm is constantly having its systems evaluated seeking ways to improve.
